Orbit is one of the UK’s largest housing organisations, owning and managing 37,000 homes and serving around 100,000 customers across Midlands, East, South East and parts of London. The group is committed to building communities and making profit for a purpose. Strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships are vital to the business’ success, so they’ve asked us to carry out perception and reputation surveys every year since 2011.

Five annual stakeholder surveys and counting

Orbit is an organisation that’s not afraid to challenge and is always keen to set the pace for new thinking, innovation and challenge to established practice. Our first survey in 2011 set a baseline to measure the group’s progress in realising new opportunities and initiatives.

As an organisation with ambitions to grow and move into new geographical areas, Orbit needed an absolute understanding of what existing and potential partners thought. Completing the original survey was part of the group’s business transformation project at
a time of unprecedented change in the housing industry.

Feedback from the annual surveys has directly shaped Orbit’s future business direction and positioning as a thought leader and influencer.

As Orbit has grown and become more diverse, our survey methodology has also developed and become more sophisticated. This sort of mutual learning and joint working is one of the hallmarks of our approach to client relationships.
